In Montclair, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across New Jersey on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Montclair is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Montclair is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Writing this as a vendor who came to set up balloons for a surprise party at Brick & Dough. For starters Mike the owner is incredible, he was extremely communicative and even sent my photos of the space beforehand so i can get a clear idea for set up. Upon arrival he even helped me bring in supplies and was super accommodating. Clearly this is the set standard for his employees as well because the whole staff from the hostesses to the event staff to the bus boys were just lovely. I didn’t stay for the event but before leaving I ordered 2 pies to go and I’m literally mid bite writing this review because of how spectacular this pizza is! I can only imagine how good this party is eating tonight. Will definitely be returning for a date night or girls night out soon!

We love Neapolitan-style pizza so we thought we’d try this popular spot in Montclair. The Garlic Knot is a β€œmust get”, served hot. The meatballs were delicious with the sauce worthy of sopping with any available dough. We liked the Arugula Salad, and our pizza selections were delicious. Definitely try it if you’re in the mood.

What makes for a great evening more than a perfectly flavorful margarita pie? I urge you to check out Brick & Dough. They really have incredible pizza, and it’s really great to bring home and saturate with your favorite hot honey. If you eat in shop (I have), you can order fancier pies, where you’ll access some of the finest local ingredients and toppings. Go for it!

This place is insanely good. Brick and Dough has mastered the difficult art of a perfect restaurant β€” incredible food, attentive service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to hang out all night. My husband and I are huge foodies with high standards, and this is some of the best pizza we have ever had. Their smashburger is so good that we no longer order smashburgers anywhere else. The garlic knots, cheesy bread, poutine, cheesesteaks, and every other menu item we’ve tried are phenomenal. The manager, Mike, is wonderful and goes above and beyond expectations. I can’t remember ever writing a review for a restaurant, but felt compelled given how outstanding our experience continues to be each time we visit. A true gem in Montclair!

We recently visited Brick & Dough in Montclair on Sunday afternoon and were seated quickly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they were very helpful in explaining the menu since it was our first time visiting. We really enjoyed the food. We ordered Mike’s Pizza, which had a nice chili kick, and the crunchy Brussels sprouts were especially delicious. Overall, we were very happy with both the taste and the service. The restrooms were clean, and the overall experience was great. I imagine there may be a wait in the evening. Parking is paid street parking and can be a little difficult to find. We will definitely be visiting again.
